I found this 1948 article on Luxury Caravan stating that they have moved from their Crows Nest site to a new site it 393 Pacific Hwy Artarmon.
I also found it interesting near the end of the article, when a van is returned from a hire it is cleaned and sprayed with D.D.T.
( For those that dont know D.D.T is a very harmful pesticide that was banned many years ago. )

New Site For Luxury Caravans.

Luxury Caravans, formerly of Crows Nest, are now 1 ½ miles further on at 393 Pacific Highway, Artarmon. NSW. The move became necessary owing to the expansion of both the hire and sales business. Another site had to be found which would accommodate 50 vans.

The new position is 5 minutes from North Sydney, by car, Lane Cove tram or Epping bus, and covers 3 acres and has 3 entrances with connecting drives. The sales and hire parks are on different levels with their respective drive-in and circuit. For greater safety, all entrances face Hotham Parade rather than Pacific Highway, and wide gates have been provided.

A brick workshop is conveniently located to service the large hire fleet, and provision is being made for each caravan, on return, to be towed by the hirer to the cleaning area where the van is uncoupled and the hirer then drives around the circuit. The caravan is then completely stripped, thoroughly cleaned and sprayed with D.D.T.

The latest improvement to caravanning to be introduced by Luxury Caravans in the New Year is gas stoves in all hire caravans.

Another advert for Luxury from Motor Manual's Year Book No. 3 -1950. Looks like they forgot to amend the copy before printing to include the page information which was in fact 54 & 55 of the same publication. These give details of the Luxory 15, 10 & 12 respectively and are attached too. I doubt if the Koala would be too 'thrilled' with the outfit unless it had a bit of gum tree to sit in.

The photo of the 15 footer is a nice family scene, no doubt to encourage the ladies to go caravanning. Love little 'Johnnies' sibling in the toy van behind the peddle car in the lower left. Unfortunately the photo quality and screening don't allow a good englargement and I can't attach it in anyway. Wonder if Luxury offered toy vans?

They seemed to like the wildlife in the photos, a wallaby with the kids in the 10ft van photo.

To keep the family intact this is a review of the Luxory 12 from Modern Motor, Oct., 1950.
The interior shots on all these vans make them look very spacious, clever use of a wide angle lens maybe? "More comfortable than the best hotel." was a bit of a claim.

1953 vintage caravan ad for the very unusual Luxory Midget. Looks to be a small van with the wheels out side the body line and also the roof lifts up for ventilation.
