Hi
I am chasing an old style "Hecla" or similar strip heater for the Supalite.
Not the free standing floor model. I want to mount it on the wall permanently.
I might chase this one up on "The bay"

I must have installed 100 of these as an apprentice.
They where about 18".. 450mm long and about 100mm high...... 1000 Watt.. so drew about 4 Amps ( no worries for a caravan)
Some had pull chords and plugged into a single power point beside them.... but we use to wire the in permanently and switched them from a power point with extra switch next to the vanity.
They have "boomerang" shaped ends and have a shiney corrugated aluminium or tin back shield to reflect the heat out....
Thats about as good a description i can give..... You get the picture
I am heading down to Sydney ... Richmond on the first weekend in August and could detour and collect if anyone has one..?
Price negotiable or.. could barter with old van bits i have here if need be.??
If i cant score a ridgey didge old one in good condition i will proably go with one of these new fangle gadgets..

No worries Richard.
Thanks for the reply. It will be spring time by the time i get the Supalite out of the shed. So ya have about 9 months before i will be needing the heater.
In the meantime i will keep scanning the local garage sales etc.
Can buy new ones for around $40... and lots of old free standing floor models... but it needs to be mounted up on the wall somewhere permanent.

No worries Trodler..
Not such a big issue now that we are coping 30 degree plus days.
Although they do come in handy if ya get caught in a downpour and you want to dry out some clothes in the Vintage van chinese laundry
One will come along sooner or later.
