Propert 9.300

I had a call from Geoff on Monday with a few questions about a very unusual Propert Folding Caravan that he has recently purchased. Although Geoff has owned a Propert in the 1970's he didnt realise that his recent purchase is a rare Propert "Fast Back" model but the thing that makes this one unusual is the covered in rear ply section that give another room to the back of the van.

Another mystery with this van is the serial number of 9.300. All of the other serial numbers I have on the register from 310 to 322 all begin with an 8 which should make them 1968, and I dont have a 9 on the register till number 330, so how did number 9.300 begin with a 9 for 1969. :o :o

Another bit of ingenious workmanship to improve the caravanners lot.

Maybe it was the last one built on a Friday and the tired workman picked up a 9 stamp instead of an 8. Mistakes happen around my place!! :)

Hi George.
Was actually thinking the same thing as the plates are hand stamped, maybe Thomas Propert couldnt find the 8 that day so he used the 9.
