Public Warning on portable gas cookers.

Post by Richard »

There must have been millions of these portable butane "lunchbox" style gas cookers sold and now the NSW Department of Fair Trading has stopped the sale of them due to safety concerns.

Just as well they were cheap, I guess I'll have to chuck mine in the bin now, it's on the list. At least it boiled the billy to Broken Hill and back. Might have to fire up my Lanes Thermil instead now.

Thanks for the post, I haven't seen or heard the warning anywhere else.

I dare say George that you wont be the only one throwing one in the scrap bin as every man and his dog had one of these. The only thing that worries me is that they have been around for years before the Department of Fair Trading got on to it.
