Now Reddo you do realise Iam going to have to change the name of the website to The vintage caravan AND MOTOR HOME restoration website.

Since you have a bit of a liking for big green motor homes how about his 1965 Classic Motor home listed on ebay at the moment. (needs a bit of work though.)

Ok..
Can anybody provide a link to the RTA requirements for motorhome compliance ??
Have found info on the RTA website for new vehicles being converted to motorhomes. They need a "second stage" compliance plate from the manufacturer.
Have also found a little bit of info on used vehicles being converted to motorhomes. They basically need an engineers report from an RTA approved signatory... modified vehicle compliance..
The Blitz already has a 4 page engineers compliance report. and is on full NSW rego....

One of the stumbling blocks between it staying where it is and ..... living at my place is the rego costs. If it could be registered as a motorhome I think the annual fee would be a lot cheaper.
Touring would basically all it would be doing.

Other issue that someone might clarify for me is..
It weighs 2.8 tonnes and a GVM 4650kg.. would I require a MR licence to drive it.??

Hi Col...
The RTA component of the NSW rego is $600.. I seen that on the rego papers.
That is about double what the costs are for the eh panno.
Then we have the green slip (CTP .. compulsory Third Party insurance) which is another $600.. That can vary depending on your age, location, driving record etc.
So could be as high as $1400 a year... way too steep for a "Novelty /2nd vehicle " laying around the shed most of the time..

Club rego... nup... too many mods. V8 ... I might be wrong .. will talk to the military vehicles club up here.

So for the amount of use it would get I figured aiming up at the motorhome reg would be the way to go. I aim almost cert that it is chaper than most other forms of reg apart from historic due to the limited use .. which is also why historic reg is cheaper... limnited use.
There is group that have an occasional weekend campover at the local pony club grounds near here... next time they are in town I will call in and have a yarn.... by that tiome the Blitz will be sold and I will have saved myself another headache.

Yeah too many mods to be eligible for historic club rego.... If youlived in Victoria you would be right with SIVS(special interest vehicle)rego but not available in Nsw (and not likely to be as it stands at the moment)
