FX FJ Holden Firewalls.

I always find it interesting to have a look at some old FX FJ bodies that have been out in the weather a while. With the paint fading away, the firewall nearly always brings out a hint of the original colour of the car.
The paint colour of each body was written in chalk on the firewall usually just below the ID plate.
This FJ panel van was recently on ebay, and the original paint colour name can be seen rusting through the paintwork, but at the moment I just cant work out what the colour was.

It is also interesting that it also has the original stencil printing from what looks like.

Gordon and I have been having a bit of a debate on the colour.
Gordon came up with Milan Blue and the colour I came up with is Milano Ivory.
Dont want to brag but I did cheat a little as the exterior of the body looks to be a pale blue but under that is the original light cream colour.
Looks as though you owe me a beer Gordon. ;) ;) ;) :D :D :D
Cheers.

In 2005 Linda and I took a meander to the Bendigo swap meet and found ourselves at Cooma.
What did we find on the way out of Cooma? Flynns wrecking yard.
This is where I first had the chance to photograph some of the slightly rusting body shells that revealed a little bit of their past.

This is a photo of some of the FX FJ holdens that were at Flynns back in 2005.

And this is the first FJ firewall that I took a photo of.
WAIT A MINUTE.
COULD IT BE TRUE.
This is the exact firewall as in the panel van shown above.   Just goes to show not much had happened to this old girl in 9 years. :D :D

This is how she was sitting in all her glory back in 2005.
