A couple more finds.

This one is from 1937, published in an American trade journal called MoToR, it would probably be classified 'culturally insensitive' these days :o

And this one is from the pen of the well known 1950s cartoonist, Emile Mercier. He had a wicked  sense of humour and often included lots of ridiculous names and little bits in cartoons.
As a kid I used to spend hours copying his cartoons to amuse myself

These three cartoons were published in the 1938 Australian Caravan Manual and Log Book.

Pity I never thought of this mobile office when I was working, might have got a promotion

Interesting that the editor thought it necessary to comment on towing more than one trailer at a time.

Hi George,

Interesting indeed, but apparently that rule didn't apply everywhere. I've seen a pic from New Zealand of a car towing a caravan followed by a boat! And it's a relatively late photo, ie not from the 30's or 40's - the tow car is a Chrysler Royal and the photo is dated 1954.

George and Don R
It wasnt that long ago that I new of a gentleman that towed two 6 x 4 box trailers at a time. He was a tradesman and one trailer had his tools and the other he filled with rubbish, he had been doing it for years and didnt know it was illegal till I said something to him.

 They live among us :!:
During our travels in Canada last year we saw several 5th wheelers towing trailers with quad bikes and jet skis so I guess it must be ok there.

I don't know the source of this cartoon but I notice in the corner it is signed E C and some of the U.S. postcards posted recently are by E.C. Kroff, the style looks similar.
