Viscount Duralvan

Post by shotgun283 »

Hi there, great site you have here. I have a Viscount Duralvan that my grandfather bought second hand in 1974. We believe this van was built in 1968 but could be wrong, the chassis no is A7631 and has a tranfer that states "supplied by AMBASSADOR CARAVANS main north road enfield ph 653241".Any information on this van would be great. As kids we did many trips in this van behind dads trusty HQ kingswood, the van is still in regular use and is shedded when not in use. I plan to have new tranfers made for it and give it a touch up, it is in very good condition inside and out.
thanks Lyndon

Hi Lyndon.
Welcome to the ourtouringpast.com forum. That is one very nice Viscount you have there. At a quick glance I would say you were pritty right with the age as I would say it was around 69. I have a list of chassis No Ill go through and check the age of these with yours.
Just checking that the exterior white is a factory finish and not painted later.

Cheers.
Richard.
