Hi George and Richard.
Dad has always told me that 1 cwt was equal to 50 kg, but before I posted this I did a quick check on google and it works out that 1 cwt is equal to 50.8 kg.
So on a 22 cwt caravan I work out the weight to be 1117.6 kg.
And when estimating a rough weight of a caravan I use 1 cwt per foot of caravan, give or take a bit. :D :D

1958 vintage caravan ad for Arrow caravans.
It is interesting that the vans are still available in canvas covered plywood or for the "metal minded client" 19 gauge aluminium sheeting.

This item from Australian Motor Manual, November 1, 1959, offers a little information about the materials used on the then new Royal range.
