1972 Travelhome

Post by nickandkaye »

Hi all,
we have recently joined the forum so I thought it was time to put up some photos and introduce ourselves. We are retired and live on the Mornington Peninsula. We have a couple of old cars and these led us to think of doing up an older van to use at car events.
We were give the Travelhome by family and while it was basically sound, we needed to fix a couple of small issues before painting etc.
I installed a new axle with electric brakes and a new Waeco two way fridge. Kaye did all the internal painting, made the new curtains and also made new seat and bed covers. It originally had bunk beds but when we acquired it, there were only two singles which suited us.
In less than 12 months we have used it on 6 occasions and have two other runs before the Vintage Nationals in Wangaratta.

I have attached a group of before and after photos as well as the tow cars.

Looking forward to meeting vanners on the road. Nick and Kaye
