Richard
Some nice badges on this post but that last one for GMA Pty Ltd is really nice, hope you have added it to your collection.

It is a lot earlier than 1940, a quick potted history - General Motors (Australia) Pty. Ltd. only existed from 1926 to 1931. The company was formed in Melbourne on 1 November, 1926, when GM established assembly and manufacturing plants in Australia. Previously, General Motors operated here as General Motors Export Company. GMA entered an agreement with Holden's Motor Body Builders Ltd. in Adelaide to supply bodies for the GM range of vehicles. That arrangement continued until 1931 when, due to the effects of the Depression, Holden's merged with GMA to become General Motors-Holden Ltd.

I particularly like the way someone erased a little bit of the top of the A in GMA to make the H for GMH, and hopefully got paid a lot of money to do it!
