I found this item in the Coach and Motor Body Builder magazine of March 15, 1933. The collapsible campout trailer seems typical of the times. The builder even had a patented leveller device and a box to take the dog with him on the trip. Funny how someone of larger build chose the smallest car on the market for his travels.

Austin 7 and home built campout trailer - 1933
Re: Austin 7 and home built campout trailer - 1933
While sorting some old copies from years ago I found I had another article relating to this outfit, at least I'm consistent in what I find interesting I suppose
Basically the same info with a different photo. George

Wow George.
What a great story, and it even made it into two magazines. It still amazes me what people did back then, a husband and wife and daughter travelling the 4000 miles in a little Austin 7. No wonder he had to have a box for the dog on the draw bar, as there would have been no room inside for him.
