Re: Vic roads- Historic photos on you tube

Good stuff there Reddo.

Re: RIP Bob Taylor.

Sad news indeed. He was most helpful when we undertook ownership of an Olympic and a really nice guy when I met him.

Our thoughts with his family.

Re: Astronaut 15/5 for sale.

Thanks Reddo and Jenno

Will have to see how things are come next Shellharbour, a cabin might be OK, a day visit more likely.

I'll still be about and adding bits on the Forum, I'm not that easy to get rid of!

Cheers

Re:Olympic Debonair, homebuilt bondwood and Astronaut 15/5 for sale.

The mobility of 'she who must' continues to decline to the point that caravanning as a past time has reached an end for us so the collection may as well go. Details of the Astronaut already posted. Looking good Richard, have you got a tow hitch to suit for the FJ?

Re: The Funny Side of Caravanning.

The attached is a really interesting social comment on caravanning from 1938, published in Smith's Weekly on 24 December, 1938. You really have to enlarge it and slowly go through it to get the full gist of the goings on in a caravan park given they were a relatively new activity. 1938-12-24 Smiths ...

Re: 1930's Caravans.

Here's another one from Newcastle area, home made with a bit of wind resistance to be sure. Featured in the Newcastle Morning Herald etc., 29 November, 1938. A note refers to an article but I couldn't find reference to the van, there was a large article about the Masonite factory, possibly the mater...

Re: Commercial Caravans.

This is a ripper commercial van, pity it never survived.
