Re: Sunliner Caravans.
G'day Richard, I have been staring at photos of two Sunliners shown higher up this thread. I have copied them below to allow comparison. Both of them have the 1963+ body, but when I study them there seems to be a bit of a difference between the two in terms of the shape of the front window area. The...

Re: Reddos "MK111" Teardrop - Homebuild
G'day Reddo,
Great to see you've started another project.
I'm sure there's lots of people who will enjoy the ride, as usual - and we always learn something from you, even if it's not to do it that way...to avoid burns, cuts and bruises!

Re: Carefree Caravans.
Hi Richard, This thread refers to both 'Carefree' caravans and camper trailers that were built by S H Cordell at 190 Hampton Street, Hampton from the 1930's, and 'Carefree' caravans which were sold from 198 Darling Road, East Malvern from around 1955 on. I'm pretty sure that these were two separate ...

Re: The Funny Side of Caravanning.
Interesting that the editor thought it necessary to comment on towing more than one trailer at a time. Hi George, Interesting indeed, but apparently that rule didn't apply everywhere. I've seen a pic from New Zealand of a car towing a caravan followed by a boat! And it's a relatively late photo, ie...

Re: SMAL-A-VAN
I have a feeling there a couple of these surviving but I can't find a post on here, might be under another name and will need to amalgamate in due course. Hi George, I think you are thinking of the Mayfair, of which there are at least three still around. As far as I can tell the Smal-A-Van is ident...

Re: Glida Caravans
G'day Richard, Looking at the Glida advert, one must assume that it was very finely balanced and self-propelled in the manner of the modern Segway scooter! You'd certainly have trouble towing it as it stands!   I've often looked at this advert and wondered why it was presented this w...

Re: Sunliner Caravans.
While reading the other night, to my surprise I came across a photo of one of the first english caravans to be made using the production of a GRP ( fibreglass ) body. The van was released in 1956 by Berkeley Caravans and the model was called the 11/14 which was later changed to the Delight. Althoug...
